I wanted to update you on Baron, (I purchased him on February 15, 2007). I can not believe that he will be having his 3rd birthday his year. I could not be anymore happy with my purchase of him. I have received so MANY compliments on his disposition and what a beautiful puppie he is. My vet who has had dogs his whole life and graduated from The Ohio State Vet school said that he was one of the best looking Dog that he has come across. I have trained Baron myself ever since he was a puppy and continue to reinforce his training on a daily basis. His favorite thing to do is upland bird hunting. His drive and his nose match that with some of the regionally ranked dogs. If someone is looking for a hunting/companion dog I would HIGHLY recommend you. I can not tell you how many birds he has flushed up and retrieved for me even in thick brush. He always wants to work and you can tell how proud he is when he is working. Always waging his tail and always waiting for the next retrieve. A lot of my friends who are serious hunters always want me to come along or take Baron for the day when they do go bird hunting because they know he will produce consistent results. It was last year today when we picked our little Cotton up from the airport, and I just wanted to give you a little update.  She’s still the biggest lover, and quite lazy — which is a good thing, lol.  She is amazing around my two little boys, I think she thinks they are her pups!

 She’s currently a little chunky — hence the lazy factor.  It would help if the boys didn’t sneak her extra meals throughout the day.  She loves the ocean with passion, even in the dead of winter.  If I didn’t though the ball into the ocean, she would take it, run into the ocean, swim a ways out and drop it.  No telling her it was too cold, she still wanted to swim!!!

Well, that’s about it. I thank you so much for breeding such a wonderful member of our family.  She truly is the most amazing dog.

We wanted to email a few photos of “DIESEL” .  He is doing very well.  He captured our heart immediately.  It took our 8 year old dog longer and our 13 year old begel— well, he still only tolerates the pup.

He has adjusted well to our loving family.  He is completely crate and house trained.   He is very smart and he is truly a very good pup.  He has not chewed one shoe (yet).

I wanted to send you a picture of our Malu and give you an update on how he is doing!  I wanted you to see how big he is getting since he was the runt of the litter.  We took him to the vet last Friday and he has gained 10 pounds since his first visit four weeks ago, he’s 25 pounds now.  He has been a wonderful pup and can do several tricks like shake, sit and lay.  We are now working on roll over.  It took a while but he even walks on a leash quite well.  He transitioned well into our family and has never cried at night.  He’s 95% house broken!  If the door is open he goes outside.  At night he has the run of our family room and uses grass scented piddle pads in the powder room.  He’s such a good boy and is told so often.  He is very pampered and loved….OK, he’s spoiled and he know it!  It’s his house and we are just visitors.  🙂  He loves everyone especially kids.  If he see’s someone walking down the street, he thinks they are there to see him.  We all love him so much and we plan on bringing him to our wedding (small gathering).  I just have to find him a bow tie!  🙂

  Just wanted to drop you a quick note and a couple of pictures of Daisy.  She is the best!  She slept through the night by night three and is about 90% house trained.  We have missed a few of her clues, but we are almost there!  We just wanted to thank you so much for her.  She is the best puppy ever and a real joy.  We start puppy training classes tomorrow, but she already recognizes come and stay!  She walks on a leash and is getting better everyday with her walks.  We are so pleased with her personality and disposition.  We brought her home three weeks ago today and we couldn’t be happier!

This is Penny.  Just wanted to give you an update on our two cockers that we bought from you last summer.  I just wanted to make sure you knew (being such a caring breeder) that they have no problems with eyes or ears and their disposition is adorable.  We get compliments on them wherever we go!  They are so much fun!  I wouldn’t know what to do without them. I just can’t believe that I don’t have to use any medicine for preventive reasons at all for their ears.  I think that is awesome! P.S. we all sleep in the same bed :0)

It’s been a busy few months here with our new pup, Jack.

The first visit to our local vet gave us assurance that we did indeed find a wonderful breeder. Our vet has raised labs also over the years and stated that Jack is one of the finest he has seen yet. I am glad I took the time to research the breed and search for a reputable breeder such as
yourself. Each visit to the vet has yielded even higher regard for him! On our vets advice, we signed Jack up for Obedience training, which he starts next Tuesday. He even went so far to say that Jack will be the star of the class! To say we are enamored and in love with him is putting it mildly. I’ve attached some pics we took recently at a local state park. True to
his breed, he is a fantastic swimmer.

I encourage anyone reading this to email you and get to know you and your breeds. I know if our Lab is of such high quality then the others have to be as well. Your farm is lovely and the dogs are healthy, happy and enjoying life there. My family was so impressed, especially after

Just wanted to update you on how it is going with Murphy.   

It has been a long first week but with much progress.  The first few nights were filled with accidents and much crying.  However, he is now comfortable with his night time living arrangements and rarely has an accident.    He also is good during the day about waiting to be outside before he goes to the bathroom.  So I would say he is well on his way to being housebroken.  Meghan has also done a good job of teaching him basic commands such as sit and come that he is responding to.  And as of yesterday he is recognizing his name (strangely only from females?).

We took him to the vet and she reports that he is healthy.
He is growing fast and we are having a lot of fun with him.  He is a very independent and confident dog.  He is not at all intimidated by larger dogs or by human beings.  Everyone who sees him is impressed with his strong build.

 I like our puppy very much. He is better than I expected. He is much more beautiful in color than I expected. The few people who have seen him immediately fall in love with him. Even at the airport they were saying he was the puppy they were going to ” steal”, he was so beautiful. I like his personality very much. He has that “puppy energy” but is not bouncing off the walls. He seems very even and nice temperament. He loves the kids, he has adjusted to all of us, he is very well socialized and he seems to learn things easy. I think he is really a well bred dog for a great pet and family member. He is just what I spent months looking for. What I think makes your puppies stand out so much from others as a family pet is there great personalities and they have the face to match. Definitely, Cisco has such a sweet face and his personality matches which makes for an excellent pet for a family. I have looked at a lot of dogs faces on the internet and around town here. He definitely has a beautiful face that stands out. That sweet expression is also in the parents. I would say we are quite pleased with him. Do you think you will still be breeding in about another 15 years?? Maybe your kids will take on doing it . Kind of like the ‘Lassie” family of dogs. It can be a family generationional thing. I think you have a good breed  here.

What a love and a joy our Scio is! Our trainer prompted me to write to you and tell you what a superdog he is! He is Mr. Wonderful and a constant joy to our family. He is smart, fun, has a terrific personality, is quiet and cuddly, and is fetching the newspaper! I would like to mention how beautiful his coat is, he has the longest eyelashes you ever did see. He is so smart! I’ll tell him something once or twice, and he’ll look at me and say w/ his eyes, “OK, I got it!” We have many students come to the house for lessons, and he runs to greet them all w/ a waggle, but never a bark. cocker (of course we were just coming to LOOK!) Our boys (age 9 & 11) fell in love with her the minute we got her home. They decided to name her “Summer” since she was born in August. I wanted to tell you about this little guy. He is small, a little less than 4lbs. He is the most loving, friendly companion you could ever meet. He is always with me, except a couple of places I am not able to take him. I take him and our dog who is 8 years old to the beach twice a week. Dillon loves it, he loves water. He will sit in front of the bathtub and bark because he wants a bath. He loves kids. Which is nice, we do not have any kids at home but there are a lot in the neighborhood and he loves playing hide and seek with them. He is very smart. When I am cooking, he keeps checking on the stove and if too much steam is coming up, he barks for us to check it. We also have a 10lb cat who is around 18 years old. They love each other. I have enclosed a picture of him so you could see how good he looks. Sorry to ramble, I just wanted you to know how much I love this little guy and what a wonderful companion he is to me.

Hi!

I just wanted to let you know that Zoe is doing great! She loves the kids and she has my husband wrapped around her little finger! Her first night here I was going to put her in her cage to sleep she let out one little bark and wimper and Sam said she could sleep in our bed! She is doing really well, the first night she got up twice and started playing with her teddy bear so I took her outside to go potty each time. She has only had one accident on the floor when we first brought her home. She went to bed with the boys lastnight then I took her out and put her in my bed she only woke up once wimpering and I took her outside she went potty and slept the rest of the night. She is already starting to look at me and wimper when she needs to go out. I can’t believe how smart she is! She even will come to you when you call her name. Any other dog I’ve had has atleast taken a few days to know their name. She will even wimper when I tell her no because she knows she is doing something bad. She loves shoes!!! My husband has fallen in love with her and can’t believe how good she has done. We are used to getting dogs from the pound and having a terrible time training them to do anything so this has been wonderful for us! Any other dog I’ve had I was constantly cleaning up after them. I just can’t believe how well she is doing. I know we still have a long round ahead of us with her training but with as well as she has done just in the past two days I really don’t think she will be any kind of a challenge to train to do anything! She seems so smart! Thanks again for Zoe she is wonderful! (I also wanted to let you know that after I brought Zoe home I received a call from someone to come view my home They are going to buy it so Zoe will be living in the country with 11 acres to run! All around Thursday was a great day!)

Last July we purchased Abby. She is our seventh dog and we find her to be extremely intelligent, cuddly, warm, and funny.  She is independent, yet loves to constantly be with you. I first must tell you that I absolutely loved your webpage.  My name is Justin .  I live in Akron, Ohio.  I have heard amazing things about your dogs, and have finally seen them first hand.  I am an underwriter for Allstate.  I used to work the district in the Scio area.  I heard from more than one Allstate agent( I believe that you were highly referred by the ladies at Allstate insurance in town, amongst others) that you would be the lady to speak to about dogs.  I just recently purchased a home with my fiancé.  We happened to move next door to Ken and Cyndi.  They have a beautiful dog named Murphy.  I don’t know if you remember Murphy or not.  She is about 6-7 years old, and is the most amazing dog I have ever seen.  Ken and Cyndi told me hands down, you are the one to go to, and after seeing the results with Murphy, the calmest happiest friendliest dog ever (Kayla has nicknamed her the Dog Mayor because all dogs, kids and parents for 6 blocks know Murphy) I am convinced that I would love to get a female puppy for Kayla.  I was wondering if you had some puppies ready around Christmas, or even a little after would be fine?  Any additional information you could give me to help me with the process would be greatly appreciated.  I would like to keep this as a Christmas present, but as I said, I can always wrap dog toys, and let her pick the puppy out later.  Or maybe a frame with a picture of Murphy haha.

I’m not sure if you remember me or not, but five years ago this summer I contacted you for a large, black male puppy.  I picked Zeke out at age 7 weeks (picture attached), and my daughter and aunt picked him up for me the following week (so that I could surprise my husband on his 50th birthday, in front of all his students – he’s an elementary principal in City School).

Anyway, Zeke is doing well, but he’s lonely.  Just a few weeks ago we had to say goodbye to our beloved 12 year old Jake, when he heart failed rather quickly.  Since John will be off for six weeks in the summer, I can think of nothing better to keep him busy than housebreaking a pup.  And, before I looked any further, I wondered what pups you might be expecting in the coming months.

 Time flies when you are having fun.  Last December my wife Sarah and I purchased this little guy from you.  He has been a great little boy for us.  He has a lot of energy and loves to play non-stop.  When we got him we wanted one that plays and you told us his parents were Chance and Betty.  Well he does have a lot of Betty in him.  If we are home with him, he will not sleep the entire time.  He wants to play until he is worn out.  He still has to stay in his “den” when we are not home, but I only live 3 miles from work, so I come home and spend lunch with him.  Weekends are all about him.  He spends it with us and goes with me to my mothers.  She loves having him visit. Today is his birthday so I decided to send you a few pictures of him.  He gets his hair cut about every six weeks and is growing a full skirt.  He is a great pleasure to have in our home.  Hope all is going well.

I must apologize for the delay in getting some updates and pictures to you on our little guys! These two have brought so much joy and happiness into our lives… we cannot thank you enough for giving us the chance to raise these guys!

I am still amazed at Waylon’s temperament. He is so calm, he listens wonderfully, and is such a loyal friend to us. We have had several people comment on how well behaved he is! Don’t get me wrong… he still causes a little ruckus with Willie and has his playful moments haha!
And Willie is such a bundle of fun too… he has the greatest facial expressions and always looks so serious! He has a ton of wrinkles on his little head and they all bunch up when he’s sleeping so you can’t see his eyes – it is so adorable! At first I was worried about him being so much smaller than Waylon when we brought him home – but boy does he give Waylon a run for his money! He isn’t afraid to stand up for himself!

They are inseparable… they do everything together from sleeping, eating, drinking, exploring, playing… even going to the bathroom side by side haha! I am so happy we decided to get both of them!

I was just writing to update you on Baron, I purchased from you in late February 2007. I am so happy with him. I have received so many compliments on how well behaved and how beautiful his coat is. He is very intelligent and picks up on commands very quickly. Every time I take him to the park the first thing he does is jump in lake before we go play fetch in the field. He loves everyone and everything. I have never seen a dog that wanted to get bathed as much as him. He jumps into the bath tub and loves having the water hit his back. No matter what kind of day I am having he always makes it better by always waging his tail. He loves to lay by my feet whenever I am studying for exams or watching TV. You were not home when we picked up Buddy a few weeks ago and I just wanted to let you know that everything went very well. Your sons Jake and Luke were very informative and are a couple of great guys, I could have talked to them all day. We took Buddy to get his shots last Friday and The Vet said that he was the best looking Labrador that she had ever seen. By the time we left we had 10 people gawking over him wanting to know where we got him and they were amazed at his obedience. My wife and I are truly amazed at this dogs temperament and he actually listens better than the boys most of the time. I am over joyed at Buddy and I have always wanted a lab that would follow me around and lay at my feet when I sit down. I never thought that a puppy would do that only an older dog. He catches on quickly, and I have used some of Caesar Milans techniques and they have worked great. I also have been doing what you told me with using a long clothes line when we walk and that has worked great also. He still doesn’t come every time but I think that will change in few months when he gets a little older. Now, if I could train him to poop in the neighbors yard I may have the perfect dog!

We have been SO happy with Jack and are so glad that we made the drive to get him.  He gets lots of compliments on his good looks and wonderful temperament!  He has already bonded with the family and wants to be by your side every minute.  He is very watchful and aware too, which makes us think he will be very protective as he gets older.  We plan on signing our oldest daughter up with Jack for 4-H dog obedience class in the spring; I think it would be a beneficial thing for both of them.

Piper’s transition was excellent.   She sleeps and has always slept between Brian and I on our pillows, (she was so small, we were afraid rolling over on her-so we trained her to sleep on the pillow).  She will not have it any other way. She is just so smart!  Has already an 85% accuracy with the p-pads.   She just had her second visit with her vet, he feels she is in good shape! She has learned to ring the bells to go outside, but doesn’t always potty outside yet.  She thinks its there just for her wish.  She loves the outside.  Well, I will keep you updated.  Take care!

I just had to write to you. Jack went for his next set of shots today and the vet just goes on and on about him! He is absolutely gorgeous. A big doofus…but gorgeous. He weighs 23 pounds now and eats like a horse. The best part of it is how happy Shelby is now. All they do is play.   After his next set of boosters, we’re going for obedience training. We have a wonderful local group that is mostly run by volunteers. Which means they are there because they want to be, you know? Our vet truly thinks the sun sets and rises on him!

We just wanted you to know what a wonderful breeder you are! I’m so glad I took the time searching for you!

Murphy, our buff cocker spaniel, joined our family from your farm last summer, and, if anything, we’re happier with him than when we last wrote to you. As you know, we were so pleased that we decided to get another dog and contacted you this past spring. The result was that we were joined by Ozzie, a  cocker spaniel puppy. During the process of obtaining Ozzie, we were again impressed by your combination of professionalism and personal attention. You were patient with our inquires and answered them clearly and promptly. When I came to see Ozzie, you didn’t pressure me while sharing everything that you had learned about his personality. Once I decided to take him, you reviewed all of the care and registration information which was a handy refresher. Ozzie has been an extremely social, out-going, fun loving, energetic puppy so far. He plays with Murphy and competes with him for our attention. He enjoys being with someone at all times and truly enjoys himself. He’s been enthusiastic and friendly in all of his social situations. This includes friends and neighbors, grooming, vet care and day care. We’d like to challenge the conventional wisdom that in selecting a puppy one should always choose an active pup that comes right to you immediately. Ozzie was quiet and shy when I came to see him, and as I’ve already said he’s now an energetic and sociable pet. I feel that good breading is a far better indicator of a good dog than a short visit with it. I’d hate to see great dogs like Ozzie miss out on a good home or dog lovers miss out on a wonderful pet like him based on a quick superficial judgement. Thanks again for two great pets. I wanted to thank you so much for Lady, the 7 year old rescue ESS we got from you. She is wonderful! My Mother, who lives with us, has company all the time, even at night! She adores her and vice versa! Lady is very well-behaved and gentle. We have finally gotten her together with our ESS, who was not initially sure he liked the idea! They look so cute together as he is about twice as big as her and is the opposite in color–more white than liver. I will try to attach a picture of Lady in my Mother’s lap.

Hey, remember us, we were there on New Year’s Day to pick up the little white Cocker boy? Escher is doing great, such a sweet and mild tempered little guy with the heart of a giant. It sure didn’t take long for him to work his way into our hearts and become a spoiled member of the family. He gets along so well with our three year old Smooth Fox Terrier who he romps and plays with all day and our 12 year old Cocker who Escher took too right away to snuggle with. Being with other people and dogs at your kennel has made him so adaptable to family life and he’s my little buddy, always at my side. Even as I type this, Escher is sleeping on my lap.  His coat is exceptionally gorgeous, full and thick with just the right amount of curl. Two weeks ago he got his first grooming and I don’t know how it’s possible but he’s even more adorable than before. I wish I had 10 more just like him. Riley’s doing just great! She’s an absolute sweetie! She’s the center of attention wherever we go. Her vet exams have been really great. We had a woman from nearby, Sue, come to do some training/teaching. She owns several dogs, some of which have been obedience champions. Riley loves her to pieces. Sue was amazed when she sat. Well it has been two weeks since we picked up Elvis and I must say that he is even better than I thought he would be. He’s doing surprisingly well on his paper training. I have him used to a harness and he is a very smart little boy! Will run after his ball and return it to you for more. Seeing your record keeping and the way that you “humanize” your puppies just confirms our belief that you care about your dogs and not just simply making a sale. Your kennel set up is very impressive.  The time spent considering the care that you give the dogs is evident by what we see in “Molly”.  She  is part of our family that brings smiles to our two young boys (as well as our 80lb. Rot/Lab mix ).
If I had known that there were such dogs available – I would have bought one from you twenty years ago !!

Freddie is now 2 years old and doing great here in Tennessee ( by the way, as you already know, we kept the name your son called him). That REALLY suits him at times. It’s amazing how smart he is. Sometimes I expect him to actually talk ( or talk back ) He loves to argue with us. Sometimes I wish I had a houseful,  We acquired a dachshund from my daughter, and Freddie thinks we got him his very own dog! They’re hilarious together. His vet says he has a remarkable personality and calls him “fearless fred “.He loves everyone he meets and is afraid of nothing. His vet asked for your name and email address. He said Freddie was of very good stock and said how hard it was to find or recommend a reputable breeder. He is our baby and we thank you so much for him.

Thank you again for being the breeder that you are. It’s obvious you and your family care so much for your babies and that shows in the puppies they produce.

I wanted to let you know how Max’s vet visit was last night… The Vet said that Max had great bone structure and no physical problems. He was happy to see such a well bodied dog!!! He also said that Max was very social for his age and could not believe how fast he is learning everything, Thanks
